These ladies took fundraising to a new dimension by being the first organization to try out our new fundraising program!
Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority
Kappa Alpha Theta is an international not-for-profit organization all over the United States and Canada. The mission of the sorority is to offer a life-long opportunity for social, intellectual, and moral growth for its members. The sorority teaches sisterhood, philanthropy, and friendship.
A New Sorority Fundraising Idea
The Kappa Alpha Theta chapter from the University of Chicago were excited to partner with emmajoy on a fundraiser that was different than anything they had done before. In our day and age group, we can't exactly dress up like Girl Scouts and sell Girl Scout cookies door-to-door for fundraising. Instead, we came up with a new idea, which was to fundraise with jewelry, something that everyone always needs. We decided to allow organizations to raise money for charity through helping us with our campaigns. The Kappa Alpha Theta sorority was the first one to give it a shot! It was a simple setup - we provided a fun graphic for the girls to share with friends and family. Everyone was given a $5 off discount code and encouraged to pass the message along through social media. The sorority did an amazing job and were rewarded for it with a donation to their favorite charity.
Campaigning with a Purpose
The Kappa Alpha Theta sorority is a strong sponsor of Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA). CASA is an incredible organization that helps children, who are victims of neglect or abuse. The CASA organization trains and supports citizen volunteers to advocate for these children in courtrooms and communities. Volunteer advocates ensure that these children are placed in appropriate foster care homes and stay with the children until they find a permanent home. Every year, CASA has 238,000 children under their care! However, there are still 400,000 a year who are alone and need help and care.
When you're advocating for a strong cause, all your passion is reflected in your efforts. We were very proud to work with the Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority on fundraising and donate to their charity. It was a pleasure to work with such smart and amazing young women! They truly care about their philanthropy and such great role models for young women. We also wanted to give a special thanks to Rachel Scheinfeld, the sorority's Chief Marketing Officer, for putting this all together!
